Moon, in my words

moonleor : moon

The Fennas word for moon is leor. Leor is an unusual last name. In Irish leor means enough, sufficient. Leor is an Israeli given name which the literal translation is "to me light".

The Welsh word for moon is lleuad or lloer, the Breton word form moon is loar, and the Irish word for moon is gealach.

The Fennas word for sun is hael. Hael is a last name. In Welsh hael means generous. Hael is a masculine first name. Hael (or Ha'il) is the name of a city in Saudi Arabia.

The Welsh word for sun is haul; the Breton word for sun is heol. Both these words probably come from Greek. In Greek mythology the sun was personified as Helios.

Sun is a good word for today, the summer solstice.
